For an exceptional evening, the Stade de France welcomes the operatic masterpiece « Nabucco » by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi.
The story refers to an event in the Bible: the king of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar II has attacked the Israelites. His daughter is taken hostage by the High Priest Zaccaria who wishes to use her as a valuable exchange for his people’s freedom.
An oh so popular drama, whose underlying political message – an incitement to the rebellion of the Milanese population under Austrian rule – has startled the public since its creation in 1842.
The version performed at the Stade de France, far from the dimensions of a traditional opera house, is led by a spectacular 360° mise en scène. This great performance realised by Charles Roubaud has over 500 artists, among which 8 soloists, the Orchestre National d’Ile-de-France conducted by Yoel Levi and the Chœur Nicolas de Grigny.
